My imagination being a Prime Minister of India

India is a country which has a vast economic, social & political history. From formation of Congress in 1885 ultimately playing a decisive role in independence, formation of constitution in 1950, economic reforms of 1991, GDP growth of record breaking 8.5% in 2007 to BJP forming government in 2019 our has seen many historical highs & lows during this era. In India, every person, in their lifetime, think at least once about becoming a Prime Minister, possibly to reverse some decisions made by the government against the concerned person or group’s interests.

During our childhood we have a utopian vision about PM, which is to be accessible & valuable to people. From a normal standpoint, the economic, social & political matters are based on the decisions made by Government, which in turn, is headed by Prime Minister.

The job of Prime Minister is not a bed of roses though. It is a whole country & managing India, the largest democracy of the world is a tough task for a single person. Yet, as the 1st task after assuming PM office, I would ascertain the impact of current policies on Lower income groups.  It is important because in India there are various laws & policies introduced by the government with the aim to uplift the growth of lower income groups, but the root problem lies in its implementation. To ensure this, I would try to identify those persons, who have in the recent past, have contributed to welfare of poor people. There is a need for the educated public to support me, as success of nation can be derived only with cooperation & coordination. This requires that people should have a self realization, along with some motivation, not to derive any personal benefit but to work for others.

2nd task is to encourage unemployed youth to start their businesses instead of looking for jobs. The future is AI & thus, to increase productivity in each sector, all the entities whether, government or private will have to shift their focus towards Automation & as a result, jobs opportunities will surely decrease. Instead, business will provide scope for self labor & self satisfaction for the proprietor, along with overall increase in productivity & employment.  This will also mitigate the problem of Disguised unemployment as the extra persons can engage in Dairy Farming or Apiculture or any other businesses which they want to. Skill India & Make in India mission currently carry these objectives but there lies a responsibility to enhance their scope.

3rd task will be to promote more awareness among poor people to educate children. Young minds make the future of our country bright & thus, education & healthcare are necessary for them so that they can turn into a resource for our country in future. On this note, I will try to create a type of environment, which will encourage the young minds to work primarily for India, rather than going abroad & resulting in Brain Drain. Education needs needs to be refined & focus will be to drive forward the NEP & evolving new vocational training models so as to enable the students know & gain expertise in their respective useful skills.

Next on my list is the dealing with problem of Corruption. The root cause of committing is to gain a whopping additional income in short period, which is difficult to earn while in a job. For Example, If there is a objective to win elections, we are at a certain point need to give advances to poor people even if I don’t side the policy at all. Laws & punishments don’t actually work & eliminating it is an impossible task, instead enraging people to indulge more in corruption. Thus, as a positive reinforcement, I would want to introduce Non-monetary rewards to people for their good acts, periodically. Non-Monetary rewards will give a sense of accomplishment & satisfaction to people, which will allow them to further indulge themselves in good acts. Even if we give Millions, Monetary rewards don't give a satisfaction to people . This is a form of LEGAL Corruption but aim is intact.

I also want to improve the performance of Public Sector Units , the aim being to bring their performance at par with the leading private companies of our Country & thereby increasing exports,. In this way, taxes can be controlled & funds to repay debts can be tapped using their profits. This would reduce the need for deficit financing & hence there would be an reduction of Price Fluctuations & inflation.

These are the major areas which I would assess and try to improve the overall growth of our country in my tenure. I hope that these ideas may get implemented to some extent in actual governance & these changes can refresh India & put it on the right path of progress.
